@thenameisyung from Cali Swag.
I used to be a fan of Cali Swag. In my mind I thought that had a unique feel to them, topped with some badass beats like we mainly see in Teach Me How to Dougie. I follow @thenameisyung on Twitter who is one of the members on C.S.D. We had a brief altercation. The young man posted a reply to one of his followers, however after trying to go to that followers page the link was corrupted. The shout out to that fan did not work due to misspelling issues. Being a an ex-loyal fan of C.S.D I tried to help this dude out.
Here is our exchange:
(Me)@thenameisyung ey that @ did not work for you homie
(Him) thenameisyung I don't even no u..lol smh
(Me)@thenameisyung doesnt matter. trying to help you out.
(Him)thenameisyung @SethMemVegas dont need help pimp ...im helpin u out by even talkin to u right now...find sumthin else to do boy
(Me)damn man, way to lose a fan. You wont get anywhere with that attitude. Step your game up, or your going to lose the LITTLE following that you have established.
Aight. I tried to help him out, so that one of his loyal fans actually gets to talk to this guy. However never again will I help C.S.D out by trying to get there music out there because this is no way to treat a fan, especially when that fan was filled with good intent.
A note to all you artists: if you ever get a following such as Cali Swag learn to appreciate each and every follower, because in the long run those fans are going to be loyal to you, if you are loyal back. Do not become cocky, but humbled. @thenameisyung was obviously not taught how to act respectfully, but maybe I should not blame him because some folks just do not have good home training.

Rebirth for Wayne? Not the case.
This album is really really bad. Lil Wayne released a rock album on February 2nd, with hopes of being discovered not just as a rapper but as one who is talented in multiple areas. Areas that most involved in the hip hop game do not go to, and for good reason. When a rapper has been rapping for as long as Wayne has, it seems like an odd concept to start devoting time into what he thinks will sell to the rock crowd.
Sadly there are many preconceived notions in both genres of music. Those that heavily favor rock may feel that most rappers are, blood sucking, money taking, drug sellin, gang bangin individuals with no content behind work. And those against favor rap may feel that rock is filled with a bunch of tight pant wearin, white boys who scream about the hardships of breakups with girl friends of 2 months. Well sadly I do not think Wayne realized with the release of this album that people are not perfect and stereotype. These stereotypes affected the sales of the Rebirth album.
One can some it up with the rockstar life style that Wayne thought he saw, was just a mirage. Lil Wayne is a rapper, and a fabulous one at that however it is rare that an artist makes it out of a genre. Not like most people, I still got mad respect for Lil Wayne and will continue to support him I will just never buy another rock album that he releases.

An urge to post about K'nann.
So for the last 2 years the Somalian rapper/dustyfoot philosopher known as K'naan has been with me. After hitting mainstream with Wavin Flag' which played alot during this last World Cup, his continues to put out good albums. Currently playing for me on repeat is the very passionate album "The Dustyfoot Philosopher" which details an insight into the struggle that K'naan had to go through in Somalia. You wanna talk about some hard times 50 Cent? Try living in gang ridden, poverty driven Somalia. There is no choice for K'naan for he was forced to make something of himself. Seeing the struggles of his people he came up with a wonderful idea. What idea is this? To write. Write about what he saw, felt, and experienced. A story develops out of his struggles and with his struggles comes his audience to become intrigued.
Just like SouljaBoy is a marketing genius, with K'naan you get lyrical genius. Spitting rhymes with grace and passion is what makes this Somalian rapper a poetic genius. I coined it, dont take it or I will sue for copyright reasons. Fleeing troubles K'naan set out with a message. To let others know how much shit is going on outside the U.S and to tell us to wake up, but truthfully he goes about it in a way that is not offensive.
I am thankful to listen to something as meaningful as I feel that "The Dustyfoot Philosopher" is. It takes a strong individual to make it through some of the things that K'naan had to go through. Major props.

Hawaii Hip Hop on the map.
I didn't that state up there had a big hip hop movement. I must say that I was naive to think that. So I have been playin this "Tha Qronicals Mixtape Vol. 1" by my boy T-QRON all night. I discovered this mixtape via Twitter, @T_QRON wanted me to give him a shout do I said ill take a peek. Hawaii is on the map my friends and I give major props to the song writing ability of this dude. One of my favorite lines from a song titled "Hear Em' Comin is "You can't fuck with me mentally, mind over matter with exceptional energy". Goddamn I love this line! Did I mention hes only been doin this 4 years?
This dude has potential and I want you to know that if you are reading this shit you need to cop this mixtape at. http://www.datpiff.com/DJ_Jay_Faire_T-QRON_Tha_Qronicals_Mixtape_Vol_1.m97370.html . Aside from that I can tell that some time was taken into building up the credibility of this mixtape. Alot of rappers nowadays put together some bullshit freestyles and put a .mp3 format just to hope and get some credibility.
As @T_QRON his passion is showed through his music let the listeners know that he cares. This is going to get him far trust me. I get alot of requests to do write ups but I will not do it if I dont think my readers will benenfit from it. Ill tell you right now, you need to listen to this mixtape and give some major props to those came up with this concept. "Tha Qronicals Mixtape Vol. 1" is just a start. Im lookin forward to Vol. 2 and 3 and want someone to hit me up and let me know when it's available. Ill leave you with another one of my favorite lines "Eat it up and laugh, and giveem nothin but tha whole truth".... Huahhhh! Killed it. Im out.

Sol Infinite.
I've been having some talks with my guy @sol_infinite via. Twitter. We made a deal to where he sends me his music, I will promote only if he returns the favor and promotes my blog and Twitter. I must say that I can see this thing taken off because this will be a common thing from here on out. The indiviuals that I feel have a strong message whether good or bad, mixed with a passion for hip hop will be featured on this blog. Just finished a song by SolInfinite that I think insues these values. I took a listen to "Visions of a Better Day" and I feel that he promotes positivity and christ though his music which gives a unique feel because alot of hip hop artist that we encounter nowadays don't give a ish about promoting what us humans would call "positivity". This is a factor that will make SolInfinite stand out, and with that comes publicity.
I was very entertained by the lyrical value of "Visions of a Better Day" but also was introgied by the technical abilities of the recording. I could tell that if this was to be recorded on a better device then the sound quality would have made the song even better. For the time being I want to give a shoutout to SolInfite and wish him the best of luck.
Do me a favor and take a listen not just to "Visions of a Better Day" but to "Within Destination" and "Sol Infinite". Follow him on Twitter @sol_infinite and help him out. http://solinfinite.tumblr.com/

Waka Flocka Hard.
Godamn this guy is scary. Have you seen him, the dude looks like a male model mixed with a blood. A coincidence? There are rumors he rolls with the red but we will never know for sure unless it comes out of his mouth. He is tatted up all over, and has these big lips but is still a handsome man to be honest with you. Aside from being a beast in person, and scary as fuck his music goes hand in hand. With the release of Flockaveli we get an insight in to the life of Waka Flocka Flame and I am glad you say that im glad I did not grow up in the streets of 1017. But I have to admit, selfishly that I am glad he did because his music truly reflects the experiences he went through.
"For My Dawgs" is an example of a song that gives me a back in the day feel to it, but at the same time lets me know the shit he used to do is a concept that stays around today. "Ima ride, ima live, ima rob... for my mothafuckin dawgs." God damn this dude goes hard. I got Flockaveli playin on my ipod dock and the next song that comes on is "Live by the gun". Gunshots in the back, his famous "POWPOWPOWPOWPOW" and the line "Let me brush my shoulders off", yea you go ahead cause I feel like im in the streets every time I listen to you.
Here is For My Dawgs if you wanna know about his life.

My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
Kanye's new album is great. I feel that when he has something to live up to, is when his albums are the best. I thought it would be hard for him to be more original since 808 was such a groundbreaking and unique album. I thought wrong because each beat and line that is produced is something that most hip hop does not feature. This is why Kanye is a cocky as he is, because he truly is one of the best in the game and never lets anyone down. "Lost in the World" is what is being played through my earphones right now and the vocals in this are ridiculous.
If you listened to 808 you know that most of the recordings were recorded through a very cheap system. Not sure if this was the case in this new album, however the sound is just as unique. Ill tell you what that "Runaway" song is one of the best songs I have heard in a while. Each line that is spit by Kanye I feel comes from his heart.
(Kanye West)
(Look at you x 14)
(Look at you x eight)
(Ladies and gentlemen, la-ladies and gentlemen)
(And I want to show you how you all look like beautiful stars tonight)
(And I want to show you how you all look like beautiful stars tonight)
(And I want to show you how you all look like beautiful stars tonight)
And I always find, yeah, I always find somethin' wrong
You been puttin' up wit' my shit just way too long
I'm so gifted at findin' what I don't like the most
So I think it's time for us to have a toast
Let's have a toast for the douchebags,
Let's have a toast for the assholes,
Let's have a toast for the scumbags,
Every one of them that I know
Let's have a toast to the jerkoffs
That'll never take work off
Baby, I got a plan
Run away fast as you can
She find pictures in my email
I sent this girl a picture of my, dick
I don't know what it is with females
But I'm not too good with that, shit
See, I could have me a good girl
And still be addicted to them hoodrats
And I just blame everything on you
At least you know that's what I'm good at
See, I always find
And I always find
Yeah, I always find somethin' wrong
You been puttin' up with my shit just way too long
I'm so gifted at findin' what I don't like the most
So I think it's time for us to have a toast
Let's have a toast for the douchebags,
Let's have a toast for the assholes,
Let's have a toast for the scumbags,
Every one of them that I know
Let's have a toast to the jerkoffs
That'll never take work off
Baby, I got a plan
Run away fast as you can
R-r-ru-ru-ru-run away
Run away from me, baby
(Look at, look at, look at, look at you)
Run away from me, baby
Run away
Run away from me, baby
(Pusha T)
24/7, 365, pussey stays on my mind
I-I-I-I did it, all right, all right, I admit it
Now pick your best move, you could leave or live wit' it
Ichabod Crane with that Lamborghini top off
Split and go where? Back to wearin' knockoffs, huh?
Knock it off, Neiman's, shop it off
Let's talk over mai tais, waitress, top it off
(Inaudible) Wanna fly in your Freddy loafers
You can't blame 'em, they ain't never seen Versace sofas
Every bag, every blouse, every bracelet
Comes with a price tag, baby, face it
You should leave if you can't accept the basics
Plenty whoes in the baller-nigga's matrix
Invisibly set, the Rolex is faceless
I'm just young, rich, but your tasteless
P!
(Kanye)
Oh
I haven't fucked in so long
You been puttin' up with my shit just way too long
I'm so gifted at findin' what I don't like the most
So I think it's time for us to have a toast
(Ladies and gentlemen! )
Yeah, I always find somethin' wrong
You been puttin' up with my shit just way too long
I'm so gifted at findin' what I don't like the most
So I think it's time for us to have a toast
Let's have a toast for the douchebags,
Let's have a toast for the assholes,
Let's have a toast for the scumbags,
Every one of them that I know
Let's have a toast to the jerkoffs
That'll never take work off
Baby, I got a plan
Run away fast as you can
Especially when douchebag is mentioned. Kanye knows he is a douchebag and capitalizes on it by creating a single and making millions based on it. He is genius of hip hop people.

I wish I was as Cool as Cool Courtney.
In the makings of being a Youtube sensation just like the dude listed below is Cool Courtney coming straight out of Memphis. "Pretty Boy", "Toss Junt", "Club Walmart", are some of the hits that have yet to be discovered by the big lables. Cool Courtney has a swagger like most dont. Wearing a backpack, some tight red pants, and a multicolored flatbill prove him to be original. That is something many artists have yet to approach and Cool Courtney is the opposite. He has come up with a newer dance called the Pretty Boy as mentioned in one of his songs. Im not the best dancer but I still try to do this dance whenever the song plays. I think its "COOL" how he gives his viewers a chance to do the "Pretty Boy" with him. He is being taken under Kinfolk Kia Shine who has establihed a good name for himself here in the Memphis hip hop scene. Kinfolk seems to be a good mentor, with close connection such as Yung Joc I believe it will only be a matter of time before @ItzCoolCourtney blows up.
Here is Cool Courtney- "Pretty Boy"

Soulja Boy- "Best Rapper"
In no way am I implying that Soulja Boy should be recognized as the best rapper. This is a name of an album. But let me mention alot of the shit that is played on the radio that Soulja Boy comes up with is very catchy, but lyrically not the best. The album "Best Rapper" is mostly freestyled. The lyrics that are put together are all spontaneous and for that my respect for him has grown. One of my favorite songs on this album is "What About My Clientel" in which he gives a shoutout to "Kingpin Skinny Pimp". This guy is a pioneer for that rap game here in Memphis, and it's nice to know someone as young as Soulja Boy pays his respect to his the more experienced rappers.
Soulja Boy is smart. He releases songs to the public that he knows will make him money. "Kiss Me thru the Phone", "Crank That", "Soulja Girl", "Pretty Boy Swag" are examples of songs that have made him a millionaire. He has his mind focused on business and making some money. He started to be known from Youtube take advantage of the internet. It takes someone with some sense to realize that popularity can grow dramatically by putting something you love, out there for the public to see. I will stick up for Soulja Boy because he has a business plan and has his eye on success, its just that he keeps his motives under the radar.

Lil Wayne is not human
And he admits it with his new album. This shit is fire and no, I will not excuse my language. #WelcomeHomeWeezy and it by god it is good to have you back. Getting the chance to listen to Lil Wayne's "I am Not a Human Being" is something I am very fortunate to have in my hands. Hands down the best release by Wayne, in my opinion. Skeptics can agree that with the release of Carter 3 that Wayne was at a standstill when it came to topping sales, but let me tell you musically this album is genius. Take a look at Gonorrhea
I am not a human
shout to all my moon men
Daddy call me tune
got them b-tches tuned in
its a crazy world so I stay in mine
and n-ggas don’t cross the line
n-ggas stay in line
like welfare I stay elsewhere
hotter than a devil, n-gga hell yeah
roc-a-bye baby, homocide baby
thats more tear drops call me cry baby
what you talkin’ bout tell it to my nine
cut your tongue out, mail it to your moms
I’m a young God, swagga un-flawed
b-tch Im in the building, you in the front yard
lifes a b-tch yeah, better yet a dumb broad
and I bet I can f-ck the World and make it cum hard
yeah you boys is washed up
and I’m sh-ttin on em like two girls and one cup
weezy baby aka bring the money home
pull out the AK and pop ya in ya funny bone
laugh now die later muthaf-cker
you’s a b-tch like zeta phi beta muthaf-cker
This verse is levels above most rappers. Wayne is gifted ladies and gentlemen. To put simply the words and rhymes that his mind comes up with are those that most never think of. It must have something to do with that sizzurp he is something that puts him in another world. How fitting "I am Not A Human Being" is.

Man on the Moon 2.
To be in tha Cudi zone is to escape from reality and enter Kid Cudi's. After being impressed after listening to the prequel Man on the Moon 1, I wanted some more. I have had the chance to listen to the sequel today and im in another world. The simple beats that are composed combined by the story telling that Cudi is marvelous at... makes me feel like he is right next to me. The first single off of this album is "Erase Me" featuring Kanye West. Anything with Kanye is going to be good because Cudi and him both share a unique story telling ability and are both able to spit rhymes at the same time. This song from the start gives listeners a rock feel to it, with a guitar slowly pacing with Cudi singing makes it all together unique. Ahhh then that Kanye verse comes it smoothly. Not to my surprise, Kanye comes it very originally with original rhymes and flow. The song is very short in itself, and leave listeners in the search for more. Which is a good thing, because Man on the Moon 2 fullfills those promises.
Here is Kanye's verse on "Erase Me".
Uh, I’m Yeezy
she said Hi I’m (Aria)
No! You an angel you wave hi to Aaliyah
I got a show in Korea
they built a new arena
why don’t you come watch it and tear the whole scene up
I know I’ve seen you before but don’t know where I’ve seen ya
oh I remember now, it’s something I that I dreamed of
Don C said she cool but don’t let her f-ck ya cream up
Monica Lewinski on ya dress take ya to the cleaners
sure enough 1 week later I’m in extra love
let everybody know she mine so she extra club
every bouncer every club show her extra love
we just praying the new fame don’t get the best of us
all good things gotta come to an end-a
she let it go to her head, no not mine-ria
the height of her shopping was writers blocking me
I couldn’t get my sh-t out anyway, I hope (you die aria
Wale.
I just wanted to give a shoutout to this guy from D.C. He gives me a Kid Cudi vibe but unfortunately has yet to blow up. You may have heard him from Waka's- No Hands song where his verse is fire.
She said look ma no hands, she said look ma no hands
And no darlin I dont dance and im with Roscoe im with Waka I think I deserve a chance
Im a bad muhfucka, go ask some muthafuckas, a young handsome muthafucka, I sling that wood I just nunchunk 'em
Now who you with, and whats your name, can you not hear boo im Wale,
And that DC shit i rep all day, and my eyes red cause of all that haze, dont blow my high, let me shine
Jumpin on that beat, let me take my time
Nigga want beef we can take it outside fuckin what broad? these hoes aint mine
Is you out your mind you out your league i sweat no bitches, I sweat out weave , I wear our tracks
Let me do my thing I got 16 for this Roscoe thing, but im almost done
Let me get back too it, a whole lotta loud and a little backwood
A whole lotta money big tip I would, I put her on the train little engine could
BITCH!
Driving in my Ford Taurus when his verse is playin makes me want to go crazy. The "bitch" at the end of the verse is a perfect way to end the fire that he was spittin. Although this song is good his album "Attention Deficit" is a debut album by him and I have 100% confidence that he is going to blow up.
