@thenameisyung from Cali Swag.

I used to be a fan of Cali Swag. In my mind I thought that had a unique feel to them, topped with some badass beats like we mainly see in Teach Me How to Dougie. I follow @thenameisyung on Twitter who is one of the members on C.S.D. We had a brief altercation. The young man posted a reply to one of his followers, however after trying to go to that followers page the link was corrupted. The shout out to that fan did not work due to misspelling issues. Being a an ex-loyal fan of C.S.D I tried to help this dude out.

Here is our exchange:

(Me)@thenameisyung ey that @ did not work for you homie

(Him) thenameisyung I don't even no u..lol smh

(Me)@thenameisyung doesnt matter. trying to help you out.

(Him)thenameisyung @SethMemVegas dont need help pimp ...im helpin u out by even talkin to u right now...find sumthin else to do boy

(Me)damn man, way to lose a fan. You wont get anywhere with that attitude. Step your game up, or your going to lose the LITTLE following that you have established.

Aight. I tried to help him out, so that one of his loyal fans actually gets to talk to this guy. However never again will I help C.S.D out by trying to get there music out there because this is no way to treat a fan, especially when that fan was filled with good intent.

A note to all you artists: if you ever get a following such as Cali Swag learn to appreciate each and every follower, because in the long run those fans are going to be loyal to you, if you are loyal back. Do not become cocky, but humbled. @thenameisyung was obviously not taught how to act respectfully, but maybe I should not blame him because some folks just do not have good home training.

Rebirth for Wayne? Not the case.

This album is really really bad. Lil Wayne released a rock album on February 2nd, with hopes of being discovered not just as a rapper but as one who is talented in multiple areas. Areas that most involved in the hip hop game do not go to, and for good reason. When a rapper has been rapping for as long as Wayne has, it seems like an odd concept to start devoting time into what he thinks will sell to the rock crowd.

Sadly there are many preconceived notions in both genres of music. Those that heavily favor rock may feel that most rappers are, blood sucking, money taking, drug sellin, gang bangin individuals with no content behind work. And those against favor rap may feel that rock is filled with a bunch of tight pant wearin, white boys who scream about the hardships of breakups with girl friends of 2 months. Well sadly I do not think Wayne realized with the release of this album that people are not perfect and stereotype. These stereotypes affected the sales of the Rebirth album.

One can some it up with the rockstar life style that Wayne thought he saw, was just a mirage. Lil Wayne is a rapper, and a fabulous one at that however it is rare that an artist makes it out of a genre. Not like most people, I still got mad respect for Lil Wayne and will continue to support him I will just never buy another rock album that he releases.

An urge to post about K'nann.

So for the last 2 years the Somalian rapper/dustyfoot philosopher known as K'naan has been with me. After hitting mainstream with Wavin Flag' which played alot during this last World Cup, his continues to put out good albums. Currently playing for me on repeat is the very passionate album "The Dustyfoot Philosopher" which details an insight into the struggle that K'naan had to go through in Somalia. You wanna talk about some hard times 50 Cent? Try living in gang ridden, poverty driven Somalia. There is no choice for K'naan for he was forced to make something of himself. Seeing the struggles of his people he came up with a wonderful idea. What idea is this? To write. Write about what he saw, felt, and experienced. A story develops out of his struggles and with his struggles comes his audience to become intrigued.

Just like SouljaBoy is a marketing genius, with K'naan you get lyrical genius. Spitting rhymes with grace and passion is what makes this Somalian rapper a poetic genius. I coined it, dont take it or I will sue for copyright reasons. Fleeing troubles K'naan set out with a message. To let others know how much shit is going on outside the U.S and to tell us to wake up, but truthfully he goes about it in a way that is not offensive.

I am thankful to listen to something as meaningful as I feel that "The Dustyfoot Philosopher" is. It takes a strong individual to make it through some of the things that K'naan had to go through. Major props.

INTERACTIVE- Vaughn X

Dude has a good sound to him. Check him out for me.

Hawaii Hip Hop on the map.

I didn't that state up there had a big hip hop movement. I must say that I was naive to think that. So I have been playin this "Tha Qronicals Mixtape Vol. 1" by my boy T-QRON all night. I discovered this mixtape via Twitter, @T_QRON wanted me to give him a shout do I said ill take a peek. Hawaii is on the map my friends and I give major props to the song writing ability of this dude. One of my favorite lines from a song titled "Hear Em' Comin is "You can't fuck with me mentally, mind over matter with exceptional energy". Goddamn I love this line! Did I mention hes only been doin this 4 years?

This dude has potential and I want you to know that if you are reading this shit you need to cop this mixtape at. http://www.datpiff.com/DJ_Jay_Faire_T-QRON_Tha_Qronicals_Mixtape_Vol_1.m97370.html . Aside from that I can tell that some time was taken into building up the credibility of this mixtape. Alot of rappers nowadays put together some bullshit freestyles and put a .mp3 format just to hope and get some credibility.

As @T_QRON his passion is showed through his music let the listeners know that he cares. This is going to get him far trust me. I get alot of requests to do write ups but I will not do it if I dont think my readers will benenfit from it. Ill tell you right now, you need to listen to this mixtape and give some major props to those came up with this concept. "Tha Qronicals Mixtape Vol. 1" is just a start. Im lookin forward to Vol. 2 and 3 and want someone to hit me up and let me know when it's available. Ill leave you with another one of my favorite lines "Eat it up and laugh, and giveem nothin but tha whole truth".... Huahhhh! Killed it. Im out.
